My neighbor has a perfect lawn, his grass is soft & green
He clips & trims a man possessed, attacking every weed
My yard – I kinda leave it alone, I mow it once in awhile
I grow a few tomato plants & let the weeds go wild

He does his thing and I do mine
Whatever makes us happy, well, that’s just fine
It’s a big wide world & it takes all kinds
Some people like roses, I like dandelions

My neighbor’s kids go to private schools, they all drive SUVs
Bumper stickers brag about grades, or the traveling soccer teams
My kids go to public school, they bring home Cs & Bs
If they get last chair in orchestra, that’s ok with me

They do their thing and I do mine
Whatever makes us happy, well, that’s just fine
It’s a big wide world & it takes all kinds
