Love Descends is the new album from Oxford based indie-pop band Jody and the Jerms, fronted by singer Jody Jeger. Love Descends is due for release on 4th November 2025 and features singles from the last two years alongside brand new, as yet unreleased material. Album closer Winter Heart features guest violin by Erica Nockalls of Wonder Stuff/Proclaimers fame and Seen It All Before and Liberation were produced by Oxford producer and Ride guitarist Mark Gardener.

Opening with the storming Hooch and Happiness, a bright-eyed bitter-sweet jangle pop anthem that perfectly represents the trademark sound of Jody and the Jerms.

The Love Descends album is full of great tracks, from fuzz rock belter Liberation, produced by Ride guitarist Mark Gardener, to the brass-led canter of Unravelling, it's clear why Jody and the Jerms are continuing to grow in stature across the UK and far beyond. More downbeat numbers such as Given Up Trying showcase a more reflective side to the band's sound and A Different Place, Lights and Severance showcase a heavier, more serious edge to their output. Musical touchstones for the band range from the classic legacy artists such as B-52s, Kirsty MacColl, and Strawberry Switchblade to fellow contemporary alt pop stars such as CMAT and The Beths.

When asked about the lyrical and thematic inspiration behind the tracks on the album, Jody explains "Love Descends is a personal collection of songs about the many facets of love, both romantic and platonic, in all its messiness and complexity. We wanted to create a series of songs that are both poignant and thought-provoking and yet still make you want to dance around the room!".

Having exploded onto the ever-thriving Oxford scene in 2019 Jody and the Jerms have quickly carved a niche for their unique brand of melodic and uplifting indie pop via a slew of releases and they have played over 100 shows and festivals all over the UK and Sweden including headline gigs and supports for Frank & Walters, Darling Buds and PopGuns and festivals including Boardmasters in Newquay.

Jody and the Jerms were the last band asked to do a Janice Long session for the BBC in 2021 and have been supported by Frank Skinner on Absolute Radio and received airplay from the likes of Amy Lamé, Mark Radcliffe and Stuart Maconie on BBC 6 Music. With the release of Love Descends and a major UK tour in the works for the first half of 2026 it looks set for Jody and the Jerms to continue to grow as one of the top indie pop bands in the UK and far beyond.
