Ceremony by Jinku

This track was inspired by the Kikuyu weddings of my mother and cousins. A marriage between Traditional African beliefs and Modern Christianity.
This was reflected through marrying western technologies such as the synthesizer with African percussion and polyrhythmic time signatures.
The track follows imaginary character Sifuna on the day of her wedding.

Sifuna's merriment preparations are well underway, the coconut wine has matured, everyone set aside their best clothes and the hungriest of stomachs, today was going to be a ceremony like no other...
