recently i’ve been counting down the days
watching hydrangeas bloom in the rain
and even two years ago, it still felt the same

don't know what to think
awkwardly sincere
bright shades of pink
buzzing in my ears
alone with you
can’t help but fear
apologetic blue
clouding up the years

far off ideas of a future unknown
and somehow, i’ve never felt more at home
unsure if i’m really deserving of this
you remind me that times better than these exist

let time fly by
and i know we will
just close our eyes
make the world stand still
newfound meaning
out of the blue
i’d give anything
to be here with you

well recently my head’s been completely full
wondering about my future with you

through mundane things
i can still hear
familiar pink
becoming more clear
and even sometimes
blue’s all that I hear
blue doubt and fear..

i’m terrified of letting you down
yet the words you deserve won’t come out of my mouth
i’m terrified, are you sick of me now?
if the flowers would wither and fall to the ground..

the changing of colors that can’t be explained
again and again I return to your name
i’ll push through the winter, i’ll try to persist
you remind me that times better than these exist
petals blending into pink purple blue hues
i've found something safe, and its balanced and true
in a downpour of color, in a downpour of rain
surely today, i’ve found a forever shade
