Rowan's Poem by Thom the Toymaker

When I met 5 year old Rowan in the woods of Texada Island here in BC, I was flabbergasted. I rarely use that word, but it's true and fitting here.

This piece features Rowan improvising (channeling?) some epic poem-speak overtop various sonic layers:
-a soft guitar line I wrote
-some samples I recorded onboard a train traveling through the Andes mountains

When I first played, to a friend, the recording of Rowan speaking, she - in that moment (or so she claims) - decided to move to BC to raise her daughter here.

It's true, these islands are a magical place to raise little wildlings :)
