Once you stood beneath a noisy light
Now it's quiet
And the silence gets to you sometimes
It was summer in the yard
Catching lightning bugs in jars
And the reflection of them in your daughters eyes

You were saving up to leave
All the factory lines and magnolia trees
It was morning in your eyes when you said goodnight
To the colors and the contrast of the sheets

Once we stood beneath that lonely pine
And talked about things
It was January beneath an evening sky
It was Winter in your eyes
And a reflection of the night
How the stars did circle around you like a dream

You were saving up to leave
To trade a pattern for an all new imagery
It was something in your eyes when you said goodbye
To the colors and the contrast in your life
