I’ve made some more Zen Music to send you all into the weekend. It’s a piece I recorded this morning called “Avidyā”. Avidyā is Sanskrit and means a state of "ignorance" or "delusion”. Or as Morphius says in the Wachowski brothers film The Matrix, “It is the world pulled over your eyes to blind you to the truth. . “ In that film nearly everyone is living in a dream world fed to them through a vast computer system. This is a thinly veiled metaphor for the Zen Buddhist concept Avidyā. This piece was recorded live – as all my Zen Music is – and for those interested in this kind of stuff, I’m using a bass guitar sample that I sequenced and looped and my trusty Fender Rhodes piano (through a distortion booster at the end). And my current favorite, my purple Synthersizers.com three- VCO synth. So come “free your mind” and enjoy this. . . or have a great weekend in The Matrix!

This site is for Jeff's other music.
"His music comes to him from The Stream. When he sits down to play, he casts his line. Sometimes he has no preconceived idea as to what he might find. He only knows the ideas will come to him-from somewhere.
As he composes, what he feels is The River of Life as it washes over him."
