I feel so lonely in The States,
My visit here has just begun.
My wife is in Italy,
With our little, new born son.

I try to reach her, In a different time zone
But the phone connection here, Is just no use.
I think she’s riding, On her Harley Davidson,
With our little baby, In a leather papoose.

He takes after his mother,
Although he’s very small.
He seems to be quite fearless,
Not like me at all!
I miss my little tough guy,
My dear dare-devil wife.
They need my influence,
To live a safer life!

I try to reach her, In a different time zone
But the phone connection here, Is just no use.
I think she’s riding, On her Harley Davidson,
With our little baby, In a leather papoose.

I think that I’d prefer,
A quiet and gentle baby.
I’d rather like to teach him art and poetry.
But a baby seems to know,
The way that baby wants to go.
So you can never say:
“He’s just like me!”
