grew up in turbulent times
i’ve seen people commit crimes
seen people slowly lose their minds
the blindsided lead the blind
i’m a product of no child left behind
where the schools just tell the kids how to pass the test,
to make it through with less stress.
so that they can get all kinds
of tax breaks, whatever they can find,

war is no stranger to me,
one was started when i was around 13,
longest war in us history,
so far..
now it looks to me,
like just a progression,
happening naturally,
of shit hitting the fan,
relentlessly,
and there’s no escaping,
just realizing and taking
chances and facing
our fears and retracing,
our steps when we make
mistakes, and never trying to fake,
because that’s just a waste,
of time
of mine,
this time of mine,
this generation will be fine,
crushing adderall in the school halls,
we’re so used to the grind,
that we kinda find it divine,
see it as a time to shine,
finally, we’re alive,
livin in this time of mine
we’re alive,
livin in this time of mind.

livin in some kind of hive mind, where all you need is a hard drive,
to be connected to your family and friends,
as a means to no end, just a new beginning
seeing rules bend, makes you wary of authority,
we’re trying to make our dreams a priority,
to achieve them with no consequence of government intervention,
just a pure extension, of what we have in store.
cause all they want is more, because they have more,
if you give a man a missile, he’ll probably want to go to war.
there’s a divide, keeping people cross-eyed,
but once we realize, who’s really keeping us inside,
we’ll all jump out, flip a shit nationwide.

See how much we’ve all been lied
To, and finally, accept the truth
Accept the balance, accept the new youth,
And not just dismiss them as fools,
They’re just uncouth
This country’s just old feet and these kids are new shoes
Get used to em
Don’t abuse them, by abusing the system
