Last night I dreamed that a gust of wind

Carried me away

Helpless, hopeless, into the gray

All alone out there, not a soul in sight

At the mercy of the air

Swept up into the night

Well, I shook my fists and I cursed the sky

As I watched my life flash right before my eyes



But then it suddenly occurred to me

In this, my final hour

Miles above the highest crystal tower

Hadn't I dreamed that I might someday

Suddenly flake flight

And ride the wind just like a bird or a kite

So I took a deep breath and I opened my arms wide

I said, what the hell, might as well just enjoy the ride



Flying, falling, just about the same thing

Flying, falling, either way we take to the wing

Flying, falling, summer breeze or winter squall

Flying, falling, we all fly, we all fall down



So I don't know how this song will fly

And I don't care

It doesn't hurt to try, and so I'll share it

Y'know life is short and then you die

You just can't win it

So I'm gonna choose to fly, if only for a minute

So I'll take a deep breath, go ahead and sing my song

Gonna fly for a while and you're welcome to sing along
