a little about this track -
it has a few meanings. i struggled a bit with finding the right words to say. i wanted to make a song about the gay community - one that empowered and highlighted young gay men and women. while writing and recording the instrumental, the massacre at pulse nightclub in orlando. florida occurred. this event very much shook me, and i found myself feeling a responsibility to make some kind of comment about it. i also found myself asking what types of other issues are the gay community facing, even from within? i hope that this song speaks to those things, and is a call to action to both allies of the LGBTQ and the community to create a safe and loving space for young people just beginning to come into their own sexuality.
this song is dedicated to those affected by the pulse nightclub shooting. i pray that they will find peace.
