Heat Lamp by Jake Nicoll
This album was recorded for the RPM challenge in 2012. For those who haven't heard of it, the goal of the RPM challenge is to record an entire album in the month of February. The album has to consist of ten songs or about 35 minutes of music.
I recorded most of the songs on a baby grand overlooking the ocean in the Battery of St. John's. The second half (from track 10 on) is one continual improvisation recorded with a cheap mono tape recorder on a detuned piano.
