Codependent from Circumstantial Evidence by Jacob Haller

I may be going out on a limb here, but it strikes me that occasionally the relationships described in country music songs are not entirely healthy ones.

Anyway, I decided to write a country song and this is what I ended up with. I think the lyrics are a bit too twisty for their own good, particularly in the first verse, but hopefully it still works OK. I was a little stumped about what to do in the second verse for a while, but I decided that we needed to see how the guy's partner was doing. Turns out, they're both doing great on their own. Those guys really need to get back together!

Chris Monti suggested that it might be fun to record this live, with both of us standing around a single stereo microphone playing and singing, and that's just how we did it - no overdubbing, no splicing. I think it gives it a nice quality that would otherwise be hard to capture.
