Lyrics

A slumbering giant pings off the guy ropes
And stands muscles yawning, head above clouds
Each unseen step is a gamble, stumbling

A voice in the distance says he can guide her
She trembles towards him down mountains and rivers
Blinded by white valley vapours, fumbling

Singing “I can’t think straight
Since they woke me
I’d rather be slumbering”

Feet licked by ocean then tensing on tiptoes,
Through two tones of blue she swims up to his tower
He's standing and shrugging with palms lifting nothing, bumbling

Singing “I can’t think straight
Since they woke me
I’d rather be slumbering

I was dreaming
I wanna go back,
I’d rather be slumbering”

"I'll pull you in if you've brought your own rope"
She says "I had to leave it all, surely you know"?
But he's not in business to help the encumbering

He gives her a book and a flame to stand watch
To send home the homeless til her bones turn to rocks
Extending his shore through their trespasses, crumbling

Singing “I can’t think straight
Since they woke me
I’d rather be slumbering
