La Apuesta by Bony Fly, Landa Freak

“La Apuesta” is a genre-blending journey that seamlessly weaves through reggaetón, dancehall, plenas, trap and electronic music. Colombian music sensation Landa Freak and Guatemalan and German Swiss-based producer Bony Fly join forces to unveil their debut fulllength album. This groundbreaking project, featuring 11 tracks, is a celebration of musical diversity, cultural fusion, and genuine friendship. “La Apuesta” is a collaborative artwork that transcends borders; it is made from the barrios, for the barrios.

Bony Fly and Landa Freak’s paths first crossed in 2018 in Medellín, creating a synergy that was undeniable. They haven’t stopped working together since then. After releasing Bellakeo and the party-anthem Sparky, they continued creating first-rate songs that they are finally ready to share with the world. Their shared passion for music shine through in every note of their debut album. Their chemistry in the studio is palpable, creating an album that resonates with authenticity.

Recorded between the dynamic streets of Medellín, the eclectic atmosphere of Geneva, and the raw energy of Mexico City, La Apuesta captures the essence of each location, creating a sonic blend that surpasses boundaries when it comes to the location or conventions. This global journey is emphasized with El Habano’s unique contribution. The Cuban artist based in CDMX, pioneer of cumbiatón and key figure in the Underground Mexicano movement, blessed the project with his signature style.

It reflects the authenticity and diversity of the streets, delivering a musical experience that is both raw and refined, embodying the essence of ‘calle pero elegante', as Tego Calderón aptly puts it. Eclectic and qualitative, the project has a perfect dose of earworm melodies, soulful romantic style, savvy lyrics, hard-hitting drums and soundsystem-ready low ends.

Dimelow is a record label founded in 2019 by DJ and producer Bony Fly, aka Mateo Echeverria. It aims to introduce dancehall in an inclusive way by blending it with other street, soundsystem-oriented sounds. Thus, confirming the potential of a global underground club scene.
