In Bambara language Ladia means to do good to someone in the sense of taking care of children. On this album I speak of giving our children what we could not have: a good education. I decided to name the album Ladia because thinking of the future, we can't forget cihldren who are the future.
Besides the title song, I created deep experimentations towards a universe of Manding, jazz, and electro. On this album, I was very much inspired by Fela Kuti and the drummer Tony Allen, their way of constructing songs. I was inspired by acoustic afrobeat. For me, this is all new because I come from far. I was born and grew up in West Africa learning traditional music, growing into it.
Adventures in life have opened up my spirit very much. For me, traveling has been like going to school. On each travel that I do as artist, I learn new things. I will never stop making progress, and in the process of artistic realizatons, my nearest encourage me to innovate and go further.
Today, we can feel that in music everything has been done - but at the same time, we know that everything has not yet been done. There is always something new to discover. If we stop dreaming, it's like a part of our life is not fonctioning. We must continue dreaming, innovating, creating so that we leave a heritage for the future generations, our participation on this earth. This album is here for you to benefit of the cultural abundance and the ancestral heritage.
