• DUB ENGINE BIOGRAPHY
Live and studio project created in September 2009 by musicians Nicolò Tucci and Sabrina Ferro from Bologna (ITA), Dub Engine is part of the last generation of dub producers who know how to feed their work with various music genres.
While keeping the uniqueness of reggae/dub music unimpaired, they tinge their sound according to the contemporary punk and dubstep movement which surrounds them.
With a great complicity, the couple develops a powerful music, supported by winds, strings and percussions leaning on a massive sub bass, kick drum and wobbles synths.
Deeply influenced by UK & French new millenium dub era (Iration Steppas, Bush Chemists, Kanka, Dub Machinist, Dubkasm, Skream) they started to evolve their live show towards a new “psycho-dubstep” way, merging the hypnotic energy of dub music with militant-warrior style typical of dubstep music.
Revealed in 2010 with a 8-track release under free Creative Commons licence on “Irie On Air” net-label , they appeared on several european compilations before signing “Rude Boy” in 2011 on Dubatriation Records their first 7″ vinyl release.
