Thunder Moon by Innes Wilson

During that time that seems so long ago...
I was living alone, going to work and coming home to my cat waiting to see what would happen in the world. Working in my studio became my friend, my social activity and my emotional release. The songs came to life as I pondered the emotional past life of the before times the upcoming emotions in the world that was unfolding. This album was recorded throughout 2020 starting right at the height of lock down and finished somewhere by November or so. Somewhat of a exploration of different arrangements, different drum beats and overall aiming to bring the songs to their most sparse production by highlighting these different effects I would normally not use.
Is this a concept album? I don't know.
I had full intentions to release this but at the time I had no money to pay for mixing and mastering. I approached Annelise Noronha at some point in 2021 to mix the album but with my zero budget I could only afford to do one track, which she really knocked out of the park.
So this album sat on a hard drive until this summer when I decided to mix the album myself on some new recording equipment I purchased.
So here you go a 9 track album of some of my most unique songwriting yet. I've included all the lyrics to each song here on bandcamp if you want to dive deeper into each songs meaning. - IW
