These songs were all written and recorded over a period of a few years. During my hiatus from the music scene I was still writing and recording regularly. They were mostly just demos recorded quickly when I had time in my home studio. Time to time I did ponder releasing some of them and had the the original working title "next to the Northumberland Slums". But as I usually do I talked myself out of releasing them.
Eventually I was encouraged by a close friend they were good enough to release. So I picked my favorite songs from the pile of recordings from 2012 to 2015 and shortened the title which has a little more cheekiness to it and was pleasantly surprised by the reception. This album reached the #1 spot on the national !earshot Folk charts and "Have a drag" being one of my most played songs.
