Al Hallaj Mystic and Martyr
Al Hallaj was a legendary Iranian Sufi master who lived in between 858 - 922 AD. Al Hallaj was one of the earliest Sufi masters, he lead his life as a dervish wanderer, he would often go into trans where he felt one with all the creation, existence, with God.
He once said "Ana al-haqq" ("I am the Truth"-i.e., God), something people at the time found offensive and could not understand, because of that. Al Hallaj was persecuted and found guilty of heresy. He found an unfortunate and brutal death. Al Hallaj before put to death said:,
Now stands no more between Truth and me Or reasoned demonstration,
Or proof of revelation;
Now, brightly blazing full, Truth's lumination Each flickering, lesser light.

He was best known for his saying, "I am the Truth" , which many saw as a claim to divinity, while others interpreted it as an instance of annihilation of the ego, which allowed God to speak through him. Al-Hallaj gained a wide following as a preacher before he became implicated in power struggles of the Abbasid court and was executed after a long period of confinement on religious and political charges.
Although most of his Sufi contemporaries disapproved of his actions, Hallaj later became a major figure in the Sufi tradition

Michael Blanchard- bass, string bass. (aka Foster Grant) HiFi eclectic bass, string bass, proficient plucker and tinkerer.
A stalwart of the 1980's Montreal music scene in bands such as Terminal Sunglasses, Bubblegum Army and Megalo,
Michael moved to Vancouver in 1996 to cause havoc in the local music scene.

Manny Allbeury is a dynamic, soulful saxophone and flute player.
He studied under the renowned English tenor Don Rendell and continued his studies at the Barry School of Music in Wales.
He initially started playing in jazz groups then went on to Rock/Soul bands touring England, Europe, and Canada.
His inspiration comes from the extremes of Coltrane to Bobby Keys.

James Newhouse has been playing Keyboards for more than 40 years.
Having a sense of harmony and accompaniment helps him to create unique creative piano melodies and electronic drums in a group.
As well as being an original composer, he plays with all sorts of music including Classic, Jazz, Blues, Pop, Folklore, etc.
James played many professional gigs and learned live sound and Music Production at the Columbia Academy in Vancouver.
He traveled to Montreal to work with a wide and diverse community of very talented musicians.
The process of interactive symbiotic feeling with various influences to express his unique musical experience, to interact with intuition has become a hallmark of his sound.

"Erkan Gencol, is a versatile musician from Turkey, now based in Vancouver, BC, Canada. With a career spanning jazz drumming, percussion, and electronic music production, Erkan has played with Turkish jazz icons Sibel Kose, Yahya Dai, and Sarp Maden. In Vancouver, he joined the rock band Rat Silo in 2018, contributing his innovative loops and live electronics to their distinctive sound, and also plays with "Istanbul the Band" (ITB) since 2023, promoting Turkish music. Currently, Erkan continues his projects with Rat Silo and ITB while experimenting to return to his jazz roots."
