This won't be for everyone by any means, but it has some charm to it. The deliberately obnoxious and ritualistic track titles, the production aesthetic and that annoying hi-hat and ride cymbal. I've been a fan of Enbilulugugal for years, who Rev has collaborated and played for on numerous occasions, and can definitely see why Izedis would rave about Tjolgtjar at any possible chance. It's almost like a stripped back version of the stuff they were releasing around the time, and I'm all for it. Psychedelic, yet tribal, black metal.
