for a source of heat & light

new appealing ways to waste your life away

you hear a trilling in a distant corridor
you can't imagine what the sound is for
but still it lurks
you fear it's made a life in you and won't go away
your heart's got ugly truths today
but my aim speaks true
follow your arrow or trust you'll burn

you cry
despite your best attempts to make a change
you're still stuck in this malaise
is this all there is?
do you see an elevator lift or a trapping door?
