Embryoyo by Hymns57

Recorded in the summer of 2015, Embryoyo is the result of Steven (Hymns57) and Oblique (Matt Holtby) sonic excursions. Formerly the two were members of the psyche electronic group Mass Device and later the pair morphed into Havens. Embryoyo is one the first recorded pieces the duo gave birth to before turning Havens into a trio.

A pulsating and rhythmic centerpiece gives way to mammoth washes of shoegaze guitar drone. Offering more patience than an actual ocean wave, Embryoyo arrives with intent to sonically drench. It's controlled recklessness that deserves repeat rides.

Hymns57 is a sound venture project, while working primarily with guitar, piano & synths. Adopting field recording, found sounds and samples to orchestrate a multivariate sonic landscape.
