Cancerbloom by HVRT

CANCERBLOOM approaches things from an angle that is different from most extreme metal records – it is a confrontation with modern decay and an unfiltered testament to what music can still be. Recorded almost entirely live at Tonmeisterei Studio in Oldenburg, the album captures the band in it's truest form: raw, urgent, and uncompromising. No sterile perfection, no digital polish – just the visceral intensity of a band in one room, breathing together.
While vaguely related to the HM2-driven sound of death metal, CANCERBLOOM distances itself from retro-worship and clichés. The record delivers unexpected harmonies, genre-defying shifts, and a sonic palette that stretches far beyond metal. Each track explores new ground, refusing repetition or predictability. This is an album for listeners who crave honesty over perfection and exploration over formula.

And CANCERBLOOM is more than sonic aggression – it is a political, social, and deeply introspective statement. Across the record, a nameless protagonist navigates personal grief and a society in collapse, with lyrics confronting disillusionment, systemic violence, and the erosion of individuality in the digital age.
