our fathers didnt make us
we were raised by the tv
for the worst, we lost ourselves in a field of noise
at the bottom of the ocean,
in a town painted blood orange by a burning sky.
maybe we've been drinking together too long,
or maybe the forest is over grown,
but as time spills over the side of the swimming pool,
and we fall victim to our own past thoughts,
the doors must stay open and the minds must stay alive,
before the putty we have turns to rock and it breaks the crystal from which we drink.
the sun will rise again
always gaining
never lower.
