I ran into her just the other day, standing on the corner,

Something strange has happened in the city nearest us--
they burnt up all of Willy's books--it caused him quite a fuss.
And so, he fixed his instrument to the sky.
Ever since, it's raining, and I feel depressed, I don't know why.

I need an umbrella to get out of the rain.
Ginger, can I stand with you? I fear I'll go insane,
and things would be much better if I don't.
I've got better things to do than lose my mind because I'm blue.
I just need someone like you to talk to for awhile.
