Since releasing the track 'Our City' as a digital single in 2021, Motion Sickness of Time Travel's Rachel Evans has been diligently crafting a patchwork quilt of hypnotic ballads. Featuring a mix of new songs and songs written over a decade ago, "Ouroboros" is, at once, both forward-thinking and unapologetically nostalgic. While, instrumentally, this collection still leans heavily on abstract textures, drones, and pulses, Rachel's once-indecipherable vocals are now more or less intelligible. There are definite earworms lurking just below the surface. Call it subliminal pop.
