Holeg Spies’ BRAVE NEW WORLD is another immersion… this time in Aldous Huxley’s novel he wrote in the 30’s. More than avant-garde, Huxley’s novel is visionary and an amazing accurate painting of our current dystopian world. HUXLEY’S MEDICINE refers to the other great book of the English writer: “The Doors of Perception” published in 1954, the book elaborates on his psychedelic experience under the influence of mescaline in May 1953. Huxley recalls the insights he experienced, ranging from the "purely aesthetic" to "sacramental vision".
This new Holeg Spies’ EP is obviously an abstract ambient trip inspired by this Rosetta stone book. Andy Falconer’s remix offers another angle…
Andy, an esteemed producer and engineer known for his early years with The Orb, is now part of the band Sedibus with Lx Paterson. He is also rather prolific having a multitude of releases under his solo project AFP.
