Made this in about a day (August 9th). I was digging around archive.org in the middle of the night, as you do, and in my browsing I found an audiobook of Ferdinand Schmidt's biography of George Washington:

That's where the "splendor of the sunrise and sunset" line came from. Yay concept album sorta. I also found a 1929 recording of a steamboat horn on vinyl, and that ended up becoming the pad and arp.

The steamboat arp is layered with a beep sound from Mario Kart: Super Circuit. Yeah, this whole album is a hodge-podge of sounds and instruments from different sources. Totally inspired by electronic artist Fearofdark here, and it turned out alright.
