Faded prints of paw and hoof, Shed antlers tufts of hair
The scat dusty and dry, Untouched traps, empty snares

Wafting malodorous tendrils Fill hunters heads with decay
Mephitic sickness brings chills, The source, putrefying prey
Eviscerated elk lay lifeless, Moldering flesh, claw wounds
Disemboweled by a beast, Murdered, unconsumed
