Manifestation by Six Organs Of Admittance

Originally a one-sided EP released on Ba Da Bing! and featuring Utrillo Kushner (Colossal Yes, Comets on Fire) on percussion and Jeniffer Juniper Stratford (Telefantasy Studios) on lead vocals. Later reissued with a full extra side of music, expanding the release to LP length. The expanded version, side 2, was a fairly conceptual track but if interested: The original 1 sided release featured an etching of the sun on Side B by artist Mike Mills. For the expanded song, I calculated where the visible planets would be in relationship to each other if the center label was the sun. This can be easily calculated using bodes law (wiki it). With the planets charted, I placed the needle of a turntable down and recorded the sound for each “orbit” (goodbye stylus, it was nice knowing you). After recordings where done picking up the etching of the sun at their respective points on Side B I played pieces in the various modes attributed by various ancient philosophers. Since earth has no mode (being the center of ancient cosmology) I chose to have my friend David Tibet write a poem and read it for that track, which he graciously did. So there you have it.
