Rio Grande from Abalone Sky by Hemma

When you look me straight in the eye
I see the bridge behind burning bright
I'm easily distracted
Smoke was filling the sky
Hard to keep my spirit soaring high
Calm and cool my worried mind

I'll try and try and try again
As the tide was coming in
Cried and cried and cried and cried
Til my tears made an ocean of the rioGrande

Birds teach me how to leave
The silhouetted mountains agree
I'm allowed to be irrational
Sun was sinking into the deep
Scattering clouds recklessly
Is that a storm I'm smelling on the breeze

I'll deny deny deny the change in winds
As the sky was caving in
Cried and cried and cried and cried
Til my tears made an ocean of the rio grande

Big river rise to meet me where i stand
Draw a line between me and my man
I can still feel him in my hands
Big river float me home again

Flying down as fast as i can
The freeway to no man's land
Retracing my steps a whole lifetime again
Cause nothing ever goes to plan
Some things we're never meant to understand
I still feel you holding my head in your hands

I'll fly away
As the dawn breaks a new day
Cried and cried and cried and cried til my tears
Made an ocean of the rio grande
