Okay, so this album basically happened because Jake's locker got jammed for like the millionth time, and while we were all waiting for the janitor with the bolt cutters, Damien started drumming this beat on the lockers that just wouldn't quit. That's Headsway for you – we turn school nightmares into songs you can scream-sing with your friends.

"Lunchroom Legends" is us bottling all that high school chaos – the sweaty-palm moments before talking to your crush, those whispered rumors that somehow echo down every hallway, and the way time drags during last period but flies when you're hanging with your crew after the bell rings.

We recorded most of this in Mason's garage with his dad's old equipment (sorry about that blown speaker, Mr. Thompson). Some tracks like "Bell Rings Out" have actual sounds we recorded in our school hallways – that's our actual homeroom bell in the intro! For "Varsity Static," we literally brought a cafeteria table into the garage and banged on it for percussion. Our math teacher Mr. Reeves even let us sample his legendary "I'm waiting" foot tap for "Mirror Pep Talk" – coolest teacher ever.

The whole album runs through a day at school – from that first annoying bell to the sweet release when it's all over. "Passed Note Dares" is literally about that time Ryan wrote down his number for Ellie Parker and then had a complete meltdown when she actually texted him. "Crushed Laces" came from that massive dodgeball incident in sophomore year that got gym class canceled for a week (still worth it).

We're not trying to be something we're not – this is just us and our beat-up instruments making noise about stuff that actually happens to us. If you've ever wanted to hit pause on a perfect moment with your friends, or felt like your heart might actually explode when someone looks at you a certain way, or just needed to blast something loud enough to drown out all the voices in your head – this album's for you.
