In which our hero realises that his investigation may have attracted the attention of the sinister Deros, malevolent creatures who live deep underground.
The Deros - short for "DEtrimental RObotS" - sprang from the fertile imagination of Richard Sharpe Shaver (1905 - 1975) and were given wide exposure in the pages of Amazing Stories magazine, under the editorship of Ray Palmer (1910 - 1977).
