Well, well, well.
This is the first(and probably only) fully new release this year of 2020.
What a crazy year, I thought I would've had more time to do stuff like this but.... it was not meant to be. Anywho, here are the stories behind the tunes...
1. Bomb Threat: One day at work, there was a bomb threat and everyone had to evacuate immediately. What a crazy world.
2. Elements: I think this one was just about the weather and the thunderstorms but I already have songs called "Thunderstorm" and such, so I had to get creative with the title.
3. Value Shift: During this pandemic, it is crazy to see how much supply and demand really affects the value of a product. Toilet paper, hand sanitizer, masks, freezers, webcams, gaming consoles. It is crazy to see how many people out there thrive in these situations by creating scarcity and inflation.
4. Shipping: One of the only nice things this year was that I got a new TV. Shortly thereafter, it stopped working. I had to ship out my TV to get it replaced and this song was made one of the days I was sitting at home, sad that I didn't have my TV.
5. Auto: This album has over 12 extra songs that were made for it that ended up being left off the final track listing. I felt that some of them weren't high quality enough or they felt like I was trying too hard to make something that sounds different. This song was made quickly and I just let my brain go into auto-pilot mode so I could finish the album.
6. Appraisals: I didn't get a raise this year because apparently I did not do well enough in the company. I wasn't given any more information than that and it still doesn't sit well with me. This song was made after I got the news.
7: Orb Stash: In Fire Emblem Heroes, the premium currency is orbs. The game will give you orbs here and there for completing various tasks or for logging in during special events. I have been hoarding my orbs for months so that I can collect them all at once and spend 'em all. I currently am still stashing them....
8. Bedsheets: One of my favorite things in life is to keep my living space from feeling stale. Since we hit the summer time I decided to get new sheets that were lighter so we were sweating in the summer heat and I took great joy in going to the store to shop for them.
9. Smokey Skies: Just when we thought this year couldn't get any worse, the west coast caught on fire and our air quality was so bad it was hazardous to open the window. That week was one of the scariest experiences I've ever had in my life.
10. Curbside: This one is about work. Our store was closed to the public for shopping and all we were doing was curbside order pickup. It was fun but very exhausting. I miss it.
11. Pandemic: What a crappy year it has been. Personally, I'm doing ok but there is just so much negative stuff happening in the world that it is scary. The virus is a huge one that is still happening and I don't think it's going away anytime soon.
12. Charcoal: I can say without a doubt that I have no idea what this song is referencing. Originally it was its own song but it had similar instruments and tempo to the Pandemic song that I just made them blend into each other. I think it works.
13. Melamine: This is what Mr. Clean Magic Erasers are made of. These things are little miracle sponges and I really do enjoy them and I'm glad I got some at Daiso when I lived in L.A.
14. Feline Figurines: I have some cat statuettes in the room and around the house and I think it's funny that if the world is wiped out and many many years later our civilization is discovered, they will find our apartment and see the cat figures and think "wow, they must have worshiped these creatures" and they would be right.
15. Case of the Bleh: I think depression isn't always the best word to describe a feeling of "meh". Apathy is too strong of a word too. Sometimes you just have a case of the bleh, where you don't really feel like doing much but it's not because you're sad or tired, it's just that you're unmotivated and you just wanna be a potato.
16. Keep Rockin' Baby: The name of this song comes from a quote from the Capcom vs SNK 2 video game. The announcer says random quotes in between battles and rounds. I don't know why fighting games of that era had over the top announcers but those lines they said definitely got stuck in your head.

Credits
I made this all by my lonesome during the year 2020. Many songs were made in quarantine, most were made while working full time in the middle of a pandemic while everyone else got to stay home and collect fat unemployment checks.
