Well I finally finished another one!

1. Break Free: This one is kind of odd because it's not really a song. My goal for this one was to create a build up and have it just suddenly end. The ticking at the end is meant to lead into the next track.

2. Awaiting Snow: This was the first track I made for this album and honestly it is one of my favorites. I wasn't super inspired when I started this album but after this song came to life I felt like maybe there was still some gas in the tank and that I should use it before it went away. The title refers to the snowstorm we were warned about.

3. Baking Soda: This was a song that was created just to get the album done. I was almost done and was looking for maybe 1 or 2 songs to fit in and complete everything so I didn't think too much while making it. In the end, it's usually the ones where your brain goes on auto-pilot that tend to be the good ones. Alyssa really likes this one.

4. Great Success: This is actually part one of two. The great success was driving down to LA to see my family. The second part of this is the next song...

5. Journey Back: Part two of two. I mean, the title is self explanatory. While I did enjoy my stay and being with my family and being in LA, his song is actually supposed to represent a successful trip and also the anticipation of going back to our apartment in Gresham. Home is where the cats are.

6. Fine Details: There isn't much to say about this one. I wanted to use the tinny sound for a song since I haven't used it much other than for accents here and there. Yeah, not much to say here.

7. Chances: This was the second song I released from this album. It feels like a song that would've been on one of the earlier albums. The title comes from giving myself another chance to try to create a song like the old ones. While I feel the newer songs I've made are a little more complex, sometimes overthinking is bad and simple is good.

8. Soon... Rain: This was an attempt at something slower and not aggressive. I think I succeeded.

9. Laundry Days: One of my older albums has a piano only track and I really enjoyed it so I wanted to give that idea another shot. While not the most complex song, I do feel that it leads into second half of the album quite nicely.

10. Yellin': The title comes from the random people yellin' outside that can be heard sometimes. Apartment complexes are full of all kinds of people and sometimes they gotta' yell. This song was actually supposed to be the first song on the last album but was replaced at the last minute. I really liked it and it felt like a good way to kickstart the back end of this album so I tweaked it slightly and it made it in.

11. Vinegar: This one is upbeat and kind of fun. It gives me NES era game vibes. I don't have too much to say about this one either as it is just a simple song with no real meaning.

12. Blizzard: This song almost didn't make the cut. Some days I like it and some days I hate it. Either way, it's about the blizzard we hit on our drive back from L.A.. That was scary.

13. Inhale Poison: The title is not about smoking, it's about me inhaling too much of the carpet cleaner powder by accident and then being lightheaded and pukey.

14. Shovels: A lot of songs about weather, ha! When we got hit with the snowstorm we had to shovel out our cars or risk being stuck forever. The song is cool, another one of those slower ones where I tried to not go overboard.

15. The Calm: This is the second song that was created for this album and it sounds a hell of a lot different than Awaiting Snow. This is probably the song that went through the most iterations as I kept going back to modify the instruments and the volume levels and even some of the melody. In the end I am very happy with the result and it is definitely a great song to end the album on. Or at least it would've been if not for the next and final song...

16. Soulmates: I have a lot of different mixed feelings about the idea of soulmates. I'd rather not go into it here but the song itself is one of my favorites I've done in a while and I am totally on board on finishing the album on this note.
