Gripping resisting persistence
Ringing it out as if it were cloth
Like a combusted moth to a flame
Remember to salt your wounds
Raid the tombs of your past
Fossils of spoils
Sacrificial secrets
Followed by the last spit of blood
Drenched in ancient wretched perfection
Poisonous saliva keeps me alive
Their graves won’t stand up forever
Counterfeit monument shiver in the night
But I wasn't there to share the sight
Silently I sit in the shadows, hid
Torches lit, seen through the slit
A tear where the logic once hung
Searching for a theory but clearly
The simplicity of authenticity
Is vivid but continuously hidden
Under the frozen curiosity
Yell a robust question with no answer
So many pretend to know but only show
What the reflections signal in response
Disputing ignorance amongst their masses
