Sugar Free by hanging up the moon
Sometime in November, I got out of bed with a tune in my head. Picked up my guitar and the songs just kept on coming. I didn’t know it then, but I must have arrived at another crossroad in my life.
As the album title suggests, the songs on Sugar Free are raw and minimalist in sound and somewhat sardonic in writing. So tone wise, it is still very much in line with previous releases. I do feel that this one’s the most unadorned of the lot. Partly because I’m just trying to do what I can with what I have and also, I’m at the stage in my life where I’m not as self-conscious as before.
Somehow, this approach seems to work well with the new songs..which are mostly about personal experiences and musings.
