New Folks by Hal Guitarist
Hal Guitarist is a folk singer-songwriter from New York. Inspired by Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Phil Ochs, and Pete Seeger, Hal’s ballads are full of stone-cold truth and hope. Traveling all around the country, Hal has been able to see folks of all walks of life and identify with them in his songwriting. Hal’s tunes have entertained many a crowd willing to listen to his songs.
New Folks came about one day as Hal was playing his banjo on the quad at Ithaca College. It was there he met bassist Addy Siegler. After discussing Phil Ochs and folk music, they ended up forming a folk duo and playing many shows together. Later on they jammed with Tyler Bage, a fine fiddle player and the ensemble presented on this album was born.
