This album is a tribute to the philosophical work of Abū Bakr Muhammad ibn Zakarīyā al-Rāzī (865–925 CE), who developed a cosmology based on five eternal principles: God, Soul, Matter, Time and Place. These principles are articulated to give rise to a finite universe in which even the heavenly bodies will have an end. Today, in the age of the Anthropocene [Capitalocene, Noocene], al-Rāzī's thought points us to the need to understand the problem of finitude from a cosmic perspective, to approach our relationship with nature from what we have in common with it, which is finitude.
