As my vision begins to fade, I see something.

Thousands of arms glowing with white light descending from above -coming down to me.

Reaching back.

They grab hold of me and pull me up.

Towards the surface,

Towards warmth.

Towards light.

I wake up to the sound of my phone buzzing.

Crawling out from under my covers, I shiver as I get up

I seem to have left my window open.

Grabbing my phone, I move to slide it shut.

As I do so, I skim over a dozen or so new messages from my friends.

They want to hang out today.

With a smile, I text them back an affirmative and lean on the windowsill, gazing outside.

The sun is just beginning to rise, casting light upon the river below.

I am not alone.
