Lyrics
we were running around chasing snowflakes
trying to catch them with our mouths
we picked icicles from trees and licked them like a lolly
and we put our tongues on street lights and waited till it stuck
then we laughed as we observed the print on the soft rime
and we hid at the side of the road and threw snowballs on passing cars
and if someone stopped to complain we'd laugh and run away
we arrived at school our hair was frozen and we were late
we took off our scarves we covered the floor in snow
and we lay still
in the deep snow
and heard nothing but our breath
and we put some in our hands and watched it closely
while it turned to ice and water
we built igloos in the yard each digging from one entrance
and when we met in the middle we took turns crawling through
when we went inside our fingers hurt
as we washed them with warm water
then we sat down by the fire and had the best hot chocolate ever
and we lay still
in the deep snow
and heard nothing but our breath
and we put some in our hands and watched it closely
while it turned to ice and water
