Awake 2022 by Greg Gilroy

I still remember vividly writing and recording the music for this song in my home studio when I got the call in the middle of it letting me know that there was a school shooting in Newtown and we rushed out to bring our daughters home, thanking god that they were safe in my arms, but yet feeling horrible thinking of all of the innocent children who lost their lives that day. I immediately thought when I went back to this music thinking “well, I know what this song will be about”

Cut to years later NOTHING has changed, in fact it’s happening again and again and again which makes me angry and sick to my stomach every time I see the news.

Recent events prompted me to re-record this song (since the original honesty, when I released I was still learning my craft) and re-release it as a reminder that things NEED to change. 100% of the proceeds to this song will go directly to Sandy Hook Promise and will be sent to them directly at the end of June.
