Fell asleep the solar's back
Rain? I'm over that
No more cloudy days to hold me back
Feeling colder than the polar caps
While I'm strolling past a city covered by a grey skies over my shoulders passed
A flash of light that cast a shadow past a man that's passing by and asked the time
9 past 5 I told him
At that moment I… had paused to pass the time
Til something had to catch my eye
That patch of light through clouded skies shines and this is what I spied
Seated in a sea of concrete
Creatures moving calmly
Routine maneuvers of daily jobs they each repeat and copy
Repetition with no sign of stopping
Grey skies and office coffee
Same lines they all stay flocking to while I'm here watching
A sunless scene here underneath a ceiling made of cloudy beams
I'm drowning deep in seas that seem rise til I'm about to scream
These grey days stretching endless
Through the rows of buildings wind whips
The signs of summer ending fall beginning as I pen this

Full cloud coverage for a cold world loveless
How it seems at least to be sometimes when I'm in public
When it was over cast over head, time slowed and hope began to dwindle
Like the rays of sun that once came through my window
Depressions like a cloud that hangs low til it tangles
Every element of life in a tight grip like a strangle
Hold. So hopelessly we hope to see a change
But the forecast just called 5 more overcast days
And I can barely rap my head around it anymore
Got plenty more clouds invading my space and I'm a penny short
Of any sort of way to bring an ending toward
Grey days that stop the sun rays
But still I carry on because I'm living for
The moment that these clouds depart my head and space around my heart
And clear my view til I'm not peering through another crowd of dark
Visions surrounding my horizons
Its Overcast
Like the sun was hiding
