Violet from The Absurd by Goodnight Gorillas

filthy pigeon playgrounds
bread crumbs fall out of the sky
all of the old people in a line
and the pavements hard to explain
when it's stained with black and blue veins
violet

this is where I was born
birthed out of a tunnel slide
climbed out of the pebbles and the dirt
and the slides were covered in mice
maybe rats, I didn't look twice
when they marched their way through the town
I'm their leader, follow my sound

I open doors that shouldn't be opened here at night
I close my eyelids when I should be watching
my back when after all I'm still outside

meet me in the bedroom
where your mouth is lying
I will buy you flowers but they're probably dry
I will tell you stories about life

I don't have to go down
spiraling out of this life
time to sink your feet into the ground
I'm searching for a desire
that can feed me when I retire
from this communistic disease
caused by holy societies
