He waited for a hand to break the surface but the waves kept coming in instead. Now, he is resting by the fireplace-wondering-what was going through her head.
Did she feel the air going or the water coming in?
-It doesn't matter now, that day is at its end.
The father wishes it were still as simple as diving in.
-He's too late now.
He walks around with what he could have done in his pocket next to a picture of his son.
Someday, somewhere maybe he will learn to live again
-Father walks with his daughter until then.
