Pen Argyl by Goatshoes

Pen Argyl was written and recorded from the end of December 2021 into early January 2022. It is the first Goatshoes album to be mixed and mastered in stereo. The prior four were recorded in stereo but then intentionally mixed down to mono to add a minimal feel. A plugin called the widener was added to those mixes to give some degree of space so as not to be too lo-fi. The added stereo image clearly gives the listener a heightened listening experience as sounds and samples burst around the field.
This EP encompasses many styles and tempos beautifully. From the charming repeating melody in "26 Protons", to the Ambience of "What the James Webb", to the early Aphex Twin sounding "Jan Mayen's Whale Reply", and all the sound art and dance craft in between. Another Treasure!
