winter reverb by Sö

“winter reverb” was named after the time of the year it was recorded and distinctive spatial sound you can hear on every track of the album. At first there was a plan to leave the album the way it was (i.e. experimental improvisations) and put it out as a side project of Semyon Korenkovich. But afterwards additional textures started to appear – bass lines, percussions, extra guitars etc., so it was decided to put the album out under the name of Sö.

“winter reverb” is not necessarily about winter itself, but more about what it brings, namely the feel of air and trees transparency, absolute stillness of fields and rivers, bright colours in the sky, the sense of time standing still, and deep reverie people are often seized with in winter, for there is a lot of time to think.

On the physical version of the album Go4aWalk Music label offers a kind of synergy of music and photography - a mini-exhibition presenting 60 works by the photographer Tatyana Maunt she personally selected for this album. One can call it “winter reverb” photo version. Limited edition to 30 copies, every copy has two different photo, every copy is a single.

альбом "winter reverb" был назван в честь времени, в которое он записывался и пространственного звучания, которое присутствует в каждом трэке. По началу работу хотелось выпустить как сайд-проект Семёна Коренковича и оставить его в первоначальном варианте - экспериментально-импровизационном, но уже позже начали прибавляться партии баса, перкуссии, дополнительных гитар и прочего, после чего альбом приобрёл статус эксперимента и импровизации проекта Sö.

"winter reverb" - это не обязательно сама зима, это скорее то, что она в себе несёт, а именно ощущения прозрачности воздуха и деревьев, полной тишины на полях и реках, ярких красок на небе, остановившегося времени и глубокой задумчивости, которая чаще с человеком происходит зимой, потому что времени подумать много.

лейбл Go4aWalk Music решил представить в физических релизах интересный союз музыки и фотографии, можно сказать, что это мини-выставка 60-ти работ Татьяны Маунт, которые она лично подобрала для этого альбома, так сказать фото-взгляд на альбом "winter reverb". Тираж 30 дисков, каждый экземпляр имеет две разные фотографии, каждый экземпляр - единственный.
