Femme Fetale by Generation Y

Femme Fetale is broadened slightly beyond the idiom. Though a figurative women is analogously used in multiple songs, the scope of the EP sees various forms and angles of temptation. Whether it is a father in a more deeply connected relationship to a drug than, say, his family—or a stubborn and angry adolescent refusing the helping hand of their loved ones, it can be said that, when illuminated, dark desires can actualize uniquely, and often through disparate appearance. Generation Y, by virtue of their own perspectives, explore the sundry crevices of interrelation and mark the beginning of a long journey to uncover the stories of our Millennial community.

If music has become an additional artistic conduit for poetry and philosophy—using Hip-Hop as the medium—then Generation Y is of writers and theorists and an active delineation of North America’s Millennials. Compressed between the latch-key kids of Generation X and the digitally dependent Generation Z, Generation Y are the self-proclaimed journalists of late adolescence and young adulthood.
