I’m an opal miner
Livin’ in a hole in the desert
With the peace and the quiet and the stone
I’m an old old timer-
Lookin’ for a glimpse of colour
As I slowly excavate my home

I’m a dirt refiner
Riggin’ up the ropes and pulleys
Hauling up the bed rock to the sun
I’m a tall tale designer

Tell ya ‘bout the time that I spent on the run
Tell ya ‘bout the chunk as big as your fist
Tell you ‘bout the lovers way to long to list

I’m a gem diviner
I can find a piece of rainbow
With a forked piece of Turpentine or Gum
I’m a gray stone grinder
Wash away the dust and gravel
